Dolly Parton is a national treasure and one of the true living legends of country music.  Dolly recorded a great new album in 2008 and here's one of the album's best songs and it also happens to be Roughstock's 25th most favorite single of the year.

Coming virtually out of nowhere with a compelling, made-for-TV love story, Joey + Rory have proven that talent rises to the top.  All of this happened to a couple that wasn't even a recording duo prior to 2008.  They end the year with our 28th favorite single.

A popular live act around Texas, Hayes Carll moved from the independent ranks to major label status with his "Trouble In Mind" album on Lost Highway Records.  This single was his first release from the album and it certanly is worthy of being one of the year's best.

With the lead single off of one of 2008's most successful albums, Sugarland cemented their status as the most popular duo in the land.  Landing in the Top 30 of our chart is one of the years most infectious and fun singles.

Some of the best singles of the year are also songs that rarely got a chance at radio. Hammond, LA Native Todd O'Neill's "Can I Come Over Tonight" is one of them and it was good enough to land at 31 on Roughstock's year-end best-of 2008 list.
