While Twilight's New Moon 'saga' retained the #1 spot at the box office, the family-friendly football film The Blind Side gained audience share to bring in over $40 Million dollars this past weekend, enough to be within $2 million

It’s fitting that as we begin our Best Country Singles of 2009 feature here at Roughstock that the countdownwould start with “Small Town USA,” a single which began its chart life in January of 2009.

As too be expected, this past week’s sales numbers for Country Music dropped on the Nielsen SoundScan Hot 200 Albums chart. In fact, only two albums from the genre saw sales increases, and those two albums are both holiday releases.

After a struggle to get "Relentless" to gold status, Jason Aldean has been on fire with the release of his latest record Wide Open.  The first two singles "She's Country" and Big Green Tractor both rocketed to the #1 spot on the charts. Will this new single follow suit?

With two #1 hits under his belt from his third album Little Bit of Life Billy Currington certainly is understandibly riding high.  Will this new single continue the hit streak or does it signal a 'safe' approach to garnering airplay in hopes of a solid, middle of the road career?

Jonathan Singleton and The Grove are new to most country music fans but the frontman's songs aren't. With four hits written for other artists the past year, Singleton certainly is in a groove. Does this single match up well with those hits?
