While Twilight's New Moon 'saga' retained the #1 spot at the box office, the family-friendly football film The Blind Side gained audience share to bring in over $40 Million dollars this past weekend, enough to be within $2 million

While Twilight's New Moon 'saga' retained the #1 spot at the box office, the family-friendly football film The Blind Side gained audience share to bring in over $40 Million dollars this past weekend, enough to be within $2 million of #1. The football film stars Tim McGraw as the father of a well-to-do Memphis area family that takes in a homeless young football player.  McGraw's wife is played by Sandra Bullock in a role that is garnering some Oscar Buzz.

While Twilight New Moon lost more than 75% of its audience from the week before, The Blind Side actually gained 17% in attendance to bring the film's 10-day total over $100 Million while actually beating the Twilight sequel on Thanksgiving Day.  New Moon, for it's part eclipsed the $200 million mark during the same period.

The film is Tim McGraw's biggest grossing film to date while also becoming Sandra Bullock's best two week run at the box office.
