Keith Urban - "Break On Me"

Ostensibly a ballad , “Break On Me” feels like classic Keith Urban. There’s a decided lack of clutter to the production here that has been present in a lot of the radio hits over the past couple of years. With the acoustic guitars serving as a percussive element, atmospheric guitars back up the lyrics but never get in the way of the lyrics as Keith Urban sings the simple melody and lyrics about the truths in life's cycle of relationships coming and going, even when you don't want to have that happen.

This is a refreshing low key ballad from Keith Urban and while it might not have the immediate "tempo" that radio seemingly loves, it still is a song that allows Keith Urban to emote the lyric in a way that has always been pleasing to longtime fans. it's a great moment kind of song, a song that needed to be released and I'm glad he chose to release it as the sophomore single from his forthcoming project after the Gold-selling #1 "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16."
