2 Steps Back - "Boombox"

Take a look and listen at the world premiere of the rising band's lyric video for the new single right here.

For many of you, this is an introduction to new band 2 Steps Back (2SB). 2SB is comprised of three brothers, Kyle (lead vocals), Jake (guitar) and Wes Lowrey (bass) and close friend Dave Koscelny (drums). The group first formed ten years ago in the small town of Lenapah, Oklahoma. Their first single, “Off Romancing,” charted on Texas Regional radio and earned 2SB the opportunity to open in major venues for artists like the Eli Young Band, Joe Nichols, Gary Allan, and the Randy Rogers Band.

For their new EP, the band recorded in Nashville with renowned producer Fred Mollin who has worked and recorded with Jimmy Webb, Johnny Mathis, Billy Joel, Billy Ray Cyrus, Kris Kristofferson and many other legends.

"Boombox" was written by Gordie Sampson and Brett Beavers.

Here's a story behind the song about "Boombox":
“Boombox is the best way to kick off our EP and summarizes the release as a whole. A fun and upbeat song that brings out all the feelings associated with being young in the summer and falling in love. The first time we heard the finished recording, memories of hanging on the tailgate of our old red dodge with buddies, trying to get the nerve up to talk to that ‘one girl’ came back. We had to put this tune on the EP and the recording of it just fell together easily. We hope you love it.” - 2SB
