Performed with his sister Catherine Dunn, "Diamond Rings & Old Bar Stools" showcases Tim McGraw at his best. He's bringing a bit of his core style from the 90s and 2000s back into the music he's making in 2014/2015. He's also brought along with him Catherine for the ride tihs time around, not unlike how Blake Shelton's featured folks from his life as harmony vocalists on tracks.
The lyrics about a couple who aren't really a good mix are great and the melody features strong steel guitar solos and a pretty harmonic musical bed. Written by Luke Laird, Barry Dean and Jonathan Singleton, "Diamond Rings & Old Bar Stools" should easily be the third chart-topping single from Sundown Heaven Town for Tim McGraw.
