Glen Templeton - "Let Her Go"

Rising singer takes on one of 2013's biggest hits and tries to make it his own.

Blessed with a rich, full voice that recalls Conway Twitty, Glen Templeton's just been waiting for the right time to break out nationally outside of his big success with SiriusXM's "The Highway." (The satcaster played "Ball Cap" and helped it sell 100k copies). Glen and his label, Black River Entertainment is hoping that "Let Her Go" can be that song.

It's always a risk to cover an iconic song like "Let Her Go" but Glen is able to sing it passionately and while the mix on the song is slightly higher than we'd like (we loved the soft acoustic nature of Passenger's worldwide hit), Glen does an admirable job with the track. It may not be 'country enough' for some though so while we like it, we don't know if this single will be his breakout hit. What we do know is that it's the title track to his debut EP with Black River and it's also currently in rotation at SiriusXM's "The Highway."
