American Young are a new duo signed to Curb Records. Their dual vocal harmony sounds very family-like even though they came together as a songwriting collective (not unlike The Civil Wars). The duo's first single "Love Is War" spent the good part of the past year on the charts and peaked around the Top 40 at country radio.
With a sound that's a little more 'edgy' and ethereal than the average new artist, American Young have a unique vision for their brand of Country music, a vision that is more fleshed out here than the stunning "Love Is War" was. If radio gives "Wasn't Gonna Drink Tonight" a chance, it can become a nice change of pace record on the mainstream Country radio.
