It's a Gold for Jason Aldean's "Wide Open"

Jason Aldean and his record label Broken Bow Records learned today that he's scored his third and his label's fourth Gold Record for his latest album "Wide Open."  Aldean has climbed up the country ranks steadily by building a solid fanbase with hit after hit single.

Jason Aldean's critically acclaimed third album WIDE OPEN (read review) has been certified GOLD by the RIAA in record time.   After only 10 short weeks, WIDE OPEN can claim sales/shipments of over 500,000 units, an accolade it took both of the country rocker's previous releases 12 weeks to claim.

"Throughout his career Jason has been one of the top selling artists that we distribute, but the strength of sales, both physical and digital from Wide Open have been nothing short of tremendous," explains RED Distribution President Bob Morelli.  "He has firmly cemented his place among country's biggest stars."

"It all comes down to great music and a lot of hard work and dedication by our entire team," adds Broken Bow Records President Benny Brown.  "We gave Jason and his producer Michael Knox the freedom to make the album Jason wanted to make, and they nailed it.  Everyone who works on this project truly BELIEVES that Jason is the next superstar of our format, and that sort of passion is irreplaceable.  We thank our friends at radio and retail, as well as Jason's family, band and crew, for being fantastic partners and helping us take his career to the next level."

A wave of momentum is still building as the second single "Big Green Tractor" (listen)has quickly become the fastest rising single of Aldean's career to date.  The red hot track has fueled a 45% increase in digital downloads for now four consecutive weeks.  It comes on the heels of his multi-week No. one hit and GOLD lead single "She's Country."
