Wide Open

Even as his albums were selling like hotcakes, Jason Aldean was still having a tough time getting consistent airplay over the course of his first two albums.  All of that changed with the back-to-back-to-back success of his last three singles.  Will the trend continue?

Sometimes a song sneaks up on you and enters itself into your subconscious and before you know it, you are singing along to a song you might not have normally liked at first.  This is exactly what has happened with "Big Green Tractor," one of our '09 favorites.

Even though it's a recently released single, "The Truth" about this song is that it is the best single that Jason Aldean has released since "Amarillo Sky."  While most of his songs are fun, there's a purity here that helped it become a favorite of ours for 2009.

Jason Aldean and his record label Broken Bow Records learned today that he's scored his third and his label's fourth Gold Record for his latest album "Wide Open."  Aldean has climbed up the country ranks steadily by building a solid fanbase with hit after hit single.

With the success of "She's Country," the first single from the new album "Wide Open," Jason Aldean seems to be on a path to headliner status. Will this song help get him there or is it another example of an artist and label pandering to what radio seemingly wants?
