Morgan Wallen Continues Rise To Superstar Status

With “7 Summers” becoming a global phenomenon, Morgan Wallen has joined Republic Records’ roster in addition to Big Loud Records.

It’s been a huge few months for Morgan Wallen who has skyrocketed to heights previously unknown in the digital landscape with his latest viral hit “7 Summers” amassing record-breaking numbers digitally before it even hit radio markets. The song, now with over 3.4 Billion streams (yes, Billion) globally, has certified him as one of country music’s biggest stars.

Now featured on the cover of print magazine like HITS’s September 14 edition, Morgan Wallen was highlighted for the success of “7 Summers” and garnered praise for it’s place “perched somewhere in the zone between Yacht Rock and Restless Heart…draped over a descending hook that is both yearning and inviting.”

The song has also helped Wallen be nominated for two Billboard Music Awards for his debut album If I Know Me and his breakout single “Whiskey Glasses,” for Top Country Album and Top Country Song, respectively. The album recently made history topping the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart for the first time after 114 weeks on the chart and stayed there for multiple weeks, mostly on the strength of sustained streaming success of the aforementioned “Whiskey Glasses” and “Chasin’ You.” The album also features the #1 hit “Up Down” and debut Top 40 hit “The Way I Talk.”

“7 Summers,” Top 15 and rising country hit “More Than My Hometown,” and the collaboration with Diplo, “Heartless,” are both previews of where Morgan Wallen is heading with his forthcoming sophomore album, an album which will follow If I Know Me into Platinum certification in no time.
