Chris Stapleton Announces “Starting Over” Album

The new recording project, which released its lead single on August 27th, is set to hit stores in November. see the "Starting Over" tracklist and cover art here!

Completed only days before COVID-19 took over the music world, Starting Over from Chris Stapleton is set for a street date of November 13, 2020. The album, his fourth solo recording for Mercury Records Nashville, is perhaps the most-anticipated album release in county music as the multi-award-winning singer/songwriter released the title track, “Starting Over,” today.

The song, which is timely to our daily quarantine struggles, actually serves as the opener for an album that examines life’s simplest joys and most-serious struggles. There are eleven new Stapleton tracks and three choice covers, John Fogerty’s “Joy Of My Life,” Guy Clark’s “Worry B Gone” and “Old Friends.”

The album finds Chris Stapleton once-again teaming with Dave Cobb at legendary RCA Studio A (and some choice work at Muscle Shoals Sound and Compass Sound Studio) and features the trusted core band of collaborators and special guests mixed in here and there, including Cobb, JTCure, Derek Mixon, wife Morgan Stapleton and special guest like Paul Franklin, Belmont Tench and Mike Campbell. Campbell collaborated with Stapleton on “Watch You Burn,” a song which features the All Voices Choir.
