Country Album Chart Report For January 16, 2015

Garth Brooks leads but also find news about the albums rising acts like Chase Rice, Sam Hunt, Scotty McCreery and Home Free!

After one week away, Garth Brooks' Man Against Machine returns back to #1 and is the only album in this report to score a sales increase this week. Garth Brooks has now sold nearly 550k copies of the album which the RIAA certified Platinum for shipments/sales to stores of over 1,000,000 copies. Jason Aldean's Platinum Old Boots, New Dirt remains #2 this week with sales now nearly 786k. Sam Hunt's Montevallo jumps back into the Top 5 with sales at nearly 241k to date. Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits, Decade #1 has now scanned nearly 233k. while Florida Georgia Line's sophomore release Anything Goes has scanned nearly 525k to date.

Top Ten Recap

Luke Bryan's juggernaut Crash My Party sits at #6 on the Country Album Chart Report for January 16, 2015 with sales of 2.346 million units scanned (with the record still churning out hit after hit).  Blake Shelton's Bringing Back The Sunshine is at #7 with sales at nearly 295k while George Strait's The Cowboy Rides Away has stormed past the 289k scanned mark. Eric Church's The Outsiders is at #9 while Brantley Gilbert's Just As I Am sits at #10.

The Next 5/Notables

Miranda Lambert leads The Next 5 with Platinum. Lady Antebellum's 747 is next with sales now at nearly 230k scanned while Zac Brown Band's Greatest Hits...So Far has scanned over 94k units. Formerly indie singer/songwriter Sturgill Simpson's Metamodern Sounds In Country Music sits at #14 with sales now at 85k to date. He just signed a deal with Atlantic Records for his next project. Rounding out the Next 5 is Tim McGraw with Sundown Heaven Town. he's scanned 220k copies of his project. 

In other news, Chase Rice has now scanned 151k copies of Ignite The Night. The album is currently on sale for $5.99 on iTunes. Kenny Chesney's The Big Revival has sold nearly 325k while Dierks Bentley is at 286k. Country vocal group Home Free is at 62k scaned for Crazy Life while Scotty McCreery has scanned 264k copies of See You Tonight. Finally, Roughstock Ones To Watch band Old Dominion appears on the chart with Old Dominion EP. They've sold 6,400 copies of the EP to date.
