Blake Shelton catapults 11 slots to retake #1 with a 386% sales increase last week with Based On A True Story. It moved 22k copies (vs less than 5k last week) to lead our Country Album Sales Report this week. Last week’s #1, Miranda Lambert’s Platinum sits at #2 with sales of 368k after 7 weeks in stores. Brantley Gilbert’s RIAA Gold-certified Just As I Am sits at #3. He’s sold 466k copies of his third career album to date (9 weeks). In 50 weeks, our #4 album, Crash My Party from Luke Bryan, has now scanned over 2.013 million albums. Impressive. Florida Georgia Line’s Here’s To The Good Times rounds out the Top 5 with another 10k fans taking home their Double Platinum-certified debut.

Kicking off the #6 through #10 portion of our rundown, we find the seventh version of the “Now That’s What I Call Country!” series. At #7 is Colt Ford’s 3 week old record Thanks For Listening. The Rural Rapper is followed by Eric Church’s The Outsiders at #8 with Big Smo’s Kuntry Livin’ at #9. Rounding out the Top 10 for another week is Capital Nashville star Dierks Bentley with Riser. Notable Album Recap
Jake Owen’s Days Of Gold benefitted from the same iTunes sale that helped Blake catapult to #1. While Jake didn’t return to the top 10, he was only 20 actual albums away from knocking out Dierks Bentley for that Top 10 finish. Neo Honky Tonk artist Sturgill Simpson’s Metamodern Sounds In Country Music enjoyed a sales push this week which helped him jump up onto both this chart and the Top 200 Albums chart. His other album, High Top Mountain also graces this chart and from what you can see, Sturgill’s already surpassed that album’s sales number with his buzzworthy second album. In between these two albums is Lucy Hale’s Road Between and Scotty McCreery’s See You Tonight. Finally, we chronicle the sales pace of Josh Thompson’s Turn It Up, which has now moved 25k to date as the new single “Wanted Me Gone” starts to make waves around the country.
Hunter Hayes Storyline (130k to date) sits at #14 for the year, Dan+Shay Where It All Began at #25, David Nail at #30 (64k), Scotty McCreery #31 (63k), Danielle Bradbery at #44 (45k), Vince Gill & Paul Franklin Bakersfield #45 (42k), and Cassadee Pope at #51 with 38k sold to date in 2014. Finally Ray Price’s Beauty Is… is at #82 with 19k scanned.
