With "Kick The Dust Up," Luke Bryan is doubling down on the uptempo partying vibe offered up by "That's My Kinda Night." It's really simple to see that this song is meant to be a summertime anthem that's all in good fun but there's also going to be a lot of new "This is the worst song ever" discussions throughout country music's blogs.
It's obviously going to be a hit but, for us, this is a song that's sort of just there. It feels maybe a tad more aggressive than Luke Bryan's known for but that's probably the whole point. The lyrics (read here) are pretty straight forward while the production uses some sounds incorporated from Hiphop.

Luke you seem like a good enough guy but man- this song is plain awful. Luke is at the top of the mountain right now- why not release a truly country song? It would get played b/c it came from him. He could have gone against the grain but instead put out generic song by the awful Dallas Davidson. Says a lot about Luke Bryan and that is not a good thing. Shame.

Like you said about a lot of people saying they don't like it! Well, count me in that group. Terrible song and I hate that this is what music has come to. Even though it will fly to the top and that's sad because it doesn't matter about the song, it's who is singing it. Luke is becoming the next Kenny Chesney. It got to where any kind of crap Kenny released, it flew to the top because it was Kenny and that pretty much is still happening. I have no respect for country radio or country music like I use to. I guess I'm just getting older and remember how it use to be.
