We're always looking for new artists to share with y'all and our latest find is Columbus, GA native Ricky Gunn. Raised on the traditional songwriting found on songs from the likes of Hank Williams, Conway Twitty and Waylon Jennings, to name but a few, Ricky Gunn was drawn to storytellers and after his Grandfather gave him an acoustic guitar and taught him three basic chords, Gunn was off and writing his own songs.
Set to release an album in 2015, “King Of This Town” is his lead single from the project. The songs he wrote for the project blend those early storytelling styles with a modern approach that is both familiar and new all at the same time. It's the same kind of approach that helped Travis Tritt become a superstar in the 1990s.
Take a listen to “King of this Town” and we think you’ll agree he’s definitely an artist to watch in 2015.
