The follow-up to the #1 hit "Bartender," "Freestyle" showcases a more rock-leaning side to Lady Antebellum than fans may have been used to in the recent past. In fact, it's a lot closer to the sound of their first record (Lady Antebellum) than any of the subsequent albums.
Written by the band with Shane McAnally, "Freestyle" is washed with B-3s and interesting instrumentals backing the trio's harmony-driven vocals. "Freestyle" may not reinvent the wheel but it will reinvent Lady Antebellum's sound, especially with the clever, mile-a-minute lyrical verses.
