Old Dominion - “Memory Lane”

Already a streaming and radio station hit, “Memory Lane” is the first new music since Old Dominion released their deluxe edition of “Time, Tequila, and Therapy” in the fall of 2021.

It’s been a strange couple of years for everyone in the world but for artists who make their living out on the road in front of people (or just work better when collaborating with people), 2020 and 2021 certainly provided some big challenges for bands and perhaps no band in country music had a tougher time with the isolation that quarantine provided than Old Dominion. A true collective as a band, they released some great material during the past two years and even took risks with singles (“Never Be Sorry,” “Some People Do”) but the time in 2022 spent working on new music and touring again has re-energized the band as they’ve sent “Memory Lane” and a subsequent EP to radio and digital service providers in early 2023. This song, “Memory Lane,” has some classic Old Dominion storytelling and song structure to it but if you really listen to the actual instrumentation in the production mix, you will hear a song that is familiar yet different, in other words, exactly what they and the country music audience needed and the lyrics are familiar yet new. We look forward to the full album release from the band in the coming months but until then, we’ll be happily listening to “Memory Lane” and the “Memory Lane (Sampler)” EP.
