Thomas Rhett may be a talented superstar songwriter with hits written for himself and other artists but he knows a hit when he hears one and that's what he's found with "Craving You," a song which takes a time warp back to the 1980s in its production style with country roots with Thomas Rhett's twangy brogue and banjo, slide guitar and mandos in the mix. Some may dislike the song but in all honesty, as far as mainstream country music chart songs go, there's nothing that is more of an instant hit and a likeable one at that than "Craving You." Maren Morris' feature spot may not be enough for some fans liking (it's NOT a duet) but she does add to the song in the latter half of it. As if ACM Male Vocalist of the Year and Single and Song of the Year awards for "Die A Happy Man" didn't prove it already, with "Craving You" Thomas Rhett proves he's a country music superstar RIGHT NOW.
