Sean McConnell - "One Acre Of Land"

One of America's best-kept secrets delivers what stands as the best-written song we've heard all year.

Blending a vocal which is equal parts Harry Chapin and Vince Gill, "One Acre Of Land" is the kind of song songwriters dream of. Each lyric is pointed, each lyric is poetic in its power and each word emphasized in just the right way. It's a relatable song about being with the one you love, a man who knows who he is and what he can give the love of his life.

This is the kind of song which stops people in their tracks. It has the same kind of power as "Humble And Kind," "The House That Built Me" and "He Stopped Loving Her Today." This is country music at its best. Hell, this is music songwriting at its best and Sean McConnell is a talented artist who deserves to be praised for what he does as an artist (along with being an oft-recorded songwriter).
