William Michael Morgan - "I Met A Girl"

With a voice that will bring many back to the 1990s and hits from stars like Clay Walker, Wade Hayes and early 2000s singers like Blaine Larsen and Kevin Denney (both who saw the genre move away from traditional leaning guys), William Michael Morgan arrives with his debut single "I Met A Girl."

Written by Sam Hunt, Shane McAnally and Trevor Rosen (of Old Dominion), "I Met A Girl" [read lyrics here] is simply a great introduction into the upcoming music from Morgan. I can see where this one could find resistance at mainstream radio but if they're really looking to turn the tide away from the "bro," this is a guy who can help do it. William Michael Morgan has a strong voice, the song is well written and Jimmy Ritchey's production is a master class on how to produced a neo-traditional song. That's no surprise as Ritchey is Mark Chesnutt's longtime production partner and also an early believer in Jake Owen (producing his first few records).

Signed to Warner Bros. Nashville, Morgan is initially releasing this one to SiriusXM's "The Highway" channel and hopefully fans react to it there (like they have Mo Pitney's "Country") and it becomes one of the handful of hits to help bring a little more of the traditional sound back to mainstream radio.
