Mickey Guyton - "Better Than You Left Me"

Take a listen to the Arlington, Texas native's debut single for Capitol Records.

When Mickey Guyton and her label Capitol Nashville released her debut EP Unbreakable to iTunes during the spring of 2014, it represented a soft launch of sorts for the singer. She was performing at the iTunes Festival and they wanted fans who heard the newcomer from Arlington, Texas to have something to remember her.

Now set to launch "Better Than You Left Me" with country radio in early 2015, Guyton's career is set to explode with this powerful new single. Guyton showcases a voice that certainly recalls Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Carrie Underwood and LeAnn Rimes. In other words, Mickey Guyton has a powerful voice, the kind that can transcend country music like those we just mentioned.

"Better Than You Left Me" is a soaring power ballad about a strong woman who knows that she's better off without that man who decided to leave her. She's stronger for going through the experience with the man and she's even better now that any moment she was in the experience. This is a rumination about a woman's ability to be herself and to not need a man, even though some in society think women are only as good as the men they're with. Mickey Guyton proves this is far from the case.
