Joe Nichols is on a roll since signing with RedBow Records last year. The Award-winning vocalist has scored two consecutive chart-topping hits with "Sunny & 75" and "Yeah." Both songs, from his RedBow debut Crickets showcase a more 'modern' sound than the talented singer was previously known for (even though still very much a well-known radio star).
With both of those songs hitting #1 and becoming RIAA-certified Gold selling digital tracks, Joe hopes to keep his resurgence going with "Hard To Be Cool," a song written by Jason Sellers ("Don't You Wanna Stay") and Rob Hatch. The song is interesting in that it has a lyric which finds Nichols focused on how he can try not to show his 'nervousness' around a pretty girl who he'd like to get to know better. But her attractiveness to him at that moment makes it really hard for him to come off as a 'cool guy' that all guys try to be when meeting a beautiful woman for that first time.
This single should have no difficulties in becoming the third hit from Crickets and it may be his best single from the album yet.

Agreed! Hard to be Cool may be my favorite song on "Crickets" but it's hard to choose. Great album!
