Meghan Linsey (Feat. Bubba Sparxxx) - Try Harder Than That

Take a listen to Meghan Linsey (formerly of Steel Magnolia)'s debut solo single, a biting commentary on the way Bro-Country views women in its songs.

Formerly 1/2 of award-winning duo Steel Magnolia, Meghan Linsey recently completed her upcoming solo album project. After selling nearly a million tracks with that band (including the Top 5 hit "Keep On Lovin' You"), Meghan has officially released "Try Harder Than That" as her debut solo single. She previously released a spirited cover of OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" before working on her album.

"Try Harder Than That" was written with James Otto and Corey Crowder. Rural Rap 'founder' Bubba Sparxxx offers up a guest verse on the spirited song which has a similar theme as Maddie & Tae's "Girl In A Country Song" while also having a similar production style as the very same 'bro' songs it is 'lampooning.'

Hope she does good with this, but I personally love the song by new artist Maddie and Tae. Not a real big fan of rapping, but some like it and that's fine. It would just be nice to hear a lot more women played on country radio.

Love Meg!! She is so talented and has a heart of gold. Her new single Try Harder Than That is an awesome anthem for women. It's got something in there for everyone. Her vocals are absolutely amazing. Excited to watch this climb to the top of the charts!! :) :) So proud of her and so happy for her. Love her new music. Her solo music is the best I've ever heard.
