Taylor Swift has taken back the status as country music's best-seller this week as Fearless jumps Play On from Carrie Underwood.  This week also saw a YouTube sensation from England and a controversial American Idol alum storm the charts.

As too be expected, this past week’s sales numbers for Country Music dropped on the Nielsen SoundScan Hot 200 Albums chart. In fact, only two albums from the genre saw sales increases, and those two albums are both holiday releases.

With their unexpected Single of the Year victory for "I Run To You" and displacing Rascal Flatts as the Vocal Group of the Year, Lady Antebellum leads this week's chart rundown as the trio leads country music's Hot 200 Albums chart dominance

Carrie Underwood is this week's chart queen as her third album Play On debuts on the top spot of the charts. Meanwhile, the rest of the chart told a story of remarkable sales growth for other country artists.

You better take this from me: Carrie Underwood’s Play On is like a disease.  This disease is one that assaults your senses so that you are now listening to contemporary country pop record.  Is this good or bad? Or is it both?
