Ryan Broshear – “I Don’t Mind” (Painted Horse Records)

Strong vocal approach from an artist that stands as one of 2013’s top names to watch. He is not afraid to show his vulnerability, which is a plus.

Chris Janson – “Better I Don’t” (Bigger Picture)

A rollicking, good time party song that should inspire some to turn up the volume, and some to get out on the dance floor.

Eric Church – “Like Jesus Does” (EMI Nashville)

Eric Church has proved his capability at picking songs that are not only hits – but different enough to stand him apart from the pack. This weathered ballad is another such performance.

Tim McGraw & Colt Ford – “Twisted” (Curb Records)

McGraw hits some nice notes in the background and in the chorus here, but I don’t think this is going to give his current single on Big Machine much competition. Still, it’s a nice performance about life’s ups and downs

Aaron Lewis – “Forever” (Blaster)

Lewis shows an incredible amount of range here. Forget his rockin’ roots, this guy is Country – with a capital “C.”

Randy Houser – “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” (Stoney Creek Records)

Quite possibly, Randy Houser is one of Music City’s most underrated voices. Here, he gets to show a different side than what we’ve seen – on a performance that qualifies as his most romantic yet!

Listen to “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” soon

Joe Bachman – “Small Town Rock Stars” (Independent)

A nice beat, great instrumentation, and a vocal that is more than anything else – fun. Not a major statement to be made, just three minutes about being the big fish in a small pond!

Aaron Watson – “Lips” (HTK Records/Thirty Tigers)

The guitars, the fiddle, and the vocals are as wide open as the Texas sky. His vocal is a little understated, but when describing his emotions about the love of his life here, it all works – and works well!

Listen to “Lips” soon

Jake Owen – “Anywhere With You” (RCA Nashville)

Jake Owen has been on a hot streak with his current album, and there’s no reason to believe that this single will derail his progress. It’s a performance that is ready to hit the airwaves. The chorus is particularly hooky!

Jason Cassidy – “Blame It On Waylon” (A-Blake Records)

Modern day outlaw sounds at it’s best. Cassidy’s vocals really seem to hit their stride on the chorus, which has a definite sing-a-long quality!
