Country Chart News – The Top 30 Digital Singles – November 13, 2013: CMA Awards Drive Sales; Eric Church “The Outsiders” #1; Taylor Swift “Red” #3

Thanks to last Wednesday’s CMA Music Awards program, Country Music’s sales experienced remarkable sales increases with many stars scoring Top 10 bows with hits (including Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan and Kacey Musgraves). Get the complete Top 30 rundown here!

Eric Church’s “The Outsiders” gained 146% over last week to bring his three week sales totals to 192k, just outpacing UMG labelmate Keith Urban whose duet with Miranda Lambert jumps to #2 with a nice 180% sales gain. The single has now sold 286k and should eventually roll past the Gold barometer by the end of 2013 or early 2014 (the post-Christmas iTunes sales boost). Taylor Swift’s “Red” is this week’s Riser of the Week and jumps from #39 to #3 with a whopping 638% sales increase. The single has sold nearly 1.15 million singles to date. Last week’s #1 single, “That’s My Kind Of Night” sits at #4 with sales at 24% over last week. The song has moved 1.17 million downloads to date. Finally, Blake Shelton’s “Mine Would Be You” garnered an impressive 102% sales increase to jump back into the Top 5. The song is the Airplay #1 hit for a second week in a row.

Florida Georgia Line Place Two Songs In Top 10; Luke Bryan’s “Drink A Beer” and Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow” Debut in Top 10.

“Stay” was looking good to hit #1 on the sales chart but Florida Georgia Line’s latest hit from Here’s To The Good Times sits at #6 with sales up 26% over last week. The single has moved 321k to date. Luke Bryan’s strong new single “Drink A Beer” sits at #7 this week and debuts there with 44k sold. The single has moved 25k other tracks since releasing with Crash My Party album but only sold just over 1k last week, giving him a 999% sales boost. Florida Georgia Line’s mega-hit “Cruise” won the duo the coveted CMA “Single of the Year” award and the song has now sold nearly 6.1 million tracks since being released the summer of 2012. Cassadee Pope’s a holdover from last week’s Top 10 with “Wasting All These Tears” now marching its way towards Platinum after surpassing Gold a couple of weeks ago. Sitting at #10 is Kacey Musgraves with her buzzworthy “Follow Your Arrow.” While it remains to be seen if the single can become a massive major radio hit, it had sold over 100k with mostly SiriusXM “The Highway” airplay alone. So it’d seem to us that the singer SHOULD easily score a hit and probably a Gold selling single with the spirited track about independence.

Little Big Town “Sober”, Lady Antebellum “Compass,” Lee Brice “I Drive Your Truck” Score CMA Bumps. Jessie James Decker debuts Top 30 with “I Do.”

This week’s entire Top 30 could really be discussed but that’d take you away from the visual aspect of the Top 30 Country Digital Singles Sales Chart so we’ll leave most of that to y’all and instead touch upon the new tracks on this week’s chart. “Sober” from Little Big Town enter the Top 30 for the first time at #14 while Lady Antebellum’s “Compass” yo-yo’s back inside the chart. Lee Brice’s CMA “Song of the Year” winner, “I Drive Your Truck” returns with a 944% sales boost and has now sold 775k copies to date. Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift’s “Highway Don’t Care” makes an apperance while Former Show Dog-Universal and Universal Records artist Jessie James Decker debuts at #30 with her “I Do,” the first single released by the singer since marrying NFL Wide Reciever Eric Decker of the Broncos.
