Carrie Underwood “Blown Away” 4th Consecutive Platinum Album; Single is 16th Consecutive Top 10 hit

Make it 4-4 and 16-16 for Carrie Underwood as she not only has scored her fourth consecutive Platinum Album certification by the RIAA today but she also has made history on the Billboard Magazine charts by scoring her 16th Top 10 hit! Read on to learn more about the new feats here!

Make it 4 for 4 for Carrie Underwood as today she has seen her fourth album Blown Away become her fourth album to be certified Platinum (the others are all multi-platinum). In addition to becoming her latest certified album, the country superstar has seen the album’s title track “Blown Away” become her 16th (again, all of her official singles) Top 10 hit. 

She has spent six non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the Top Country Albums chart and also earned her seventh Female Vocalist of the Year nomination from the Country Music Association for the 46th Annual CMA Awards.  Carrie will be co-hosting the awards show for the fifth time with her friend and fellow Arista Nashville label mate, Brad Paisley. The show will air Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 8-11PM /ET on ABC TV affiliates nationwide.

“Blown Away”‘s placement in the Top 10 this week gives the star a new record as she is the only female artist to have scored so many Top 10 hits inBillboard Magazine‘s 68-year history!
