Americana Icon Uncle Lucius To Return After 5 Years With New Album “Like It’s The Last One Left”

The Iconic Austin-based band, who many thought was gone forever, returns with fresh music and new single “Keep Singing Along.”

It’s been a long, long five years but the wait (with a world in a pandemic within it) is over for fans of the iconic Americana band Uncle Lucius as they’re set to release their new album Like It’s The Last One Left  on December 8, 2023. The album is set to drop via Boo Clap Records/Thirty Tigers and showcases the band exactly as they’ve been known for in the past. It’s a mix of their amped-up Americana and greasy roots rock with string arrangements, adventurous production and sharp songwriting.

While they had a ‘farewell tour,’ fans couldn’t let go and neither could TV synch placements, like with hit TV program Yellowstone prominently featuring “Keep The Wolves Away” within the series in 2020, leading to subsequent Gold and Platinum certifications from the RIAA for the glow up. After this hiatus, the band has a fresh outlook and a deep sense of who they are and the ideas to keep the band fresh this go round while they shook off the rust and got back to crafting the kinds of songs fans have long loved from the band.

"There are no limitations this time around," says frontman Kevin Galloway. "We're exploring different areas of American roots music, and we're doing it our own way. There's a new perspective that comes with stepping away from something for a while, then coming back to it. You can see it with new eyes."

The band’s first single from Like It’s The Last One Left, “Keep Singing Along,” is an atmospheric blast of rootsy, funky honky tonk blended to a message about seizing the day and embracing — and enjoying — the moment. There seems to be something for every fan of the band’s past work on this record. The band will be on tour throughout the fall and will release more concert dates for the winter in the coming weeks.
