Frank Ray Breaks Out At Radio with "Country'd Look Good On You"

Rising country artist has biggest first week at country radio for a debut artist in all of 2021.

With “Country’d Look Good On You,” Stoney Creek Records’ latest star discovery, Frank Ray, has earned the title of the highest-debuting new artist in all of 2021 on the impact day of their debut single. The playful single scored 59 adds at country radio, enough for the song to hit #1 most weeks, but this week he had to “settle” for third place as new singles from superstars Keith Urban ("Wild Hearts") and Kane Brown (“One Mississippi”) both outpaced Franke Ray.

The mid-tempo track filled with rural imagery, “Country’d Look Good On You” is the perfect ear-pleasing introduction to Frank Ray’s sound and it was produced by Frank Rogers, a Platinum-producing songwriter and producer known for helping Scotty McCreery break out and for putting Darius Rucker and Brad Paisley on the country radio map. It’s clear from this single that Rogers is set to repeat the feat a fourth time with Frank Ray.

“It’s hard to describe the feeling of hearing your own song come on the radio—it brings all kinds of emotions to the surface—I’m grateful to my incredible fans, family, manager Oscar Chavira and my entire team,” said Frank Ray. “Thank you to Country radio for gifting me with that incredible feeling and continuing to support me and my dream.”

Watch the emotional moment Frank heard the song on the radio for the first time in his hometown here.

“It’s so exciting to see the magic of Frank’s Country Radio Broadcaster Board performance just a couple of months ago, culminate in a massive first week. I’ll never forget Rod Phillips jumping up at end of Frank's set and shouting ‘Let’s Goooo!'," said Jon Loba, President BMG Nashville. "Thank you so much to our friends in radio for taking such a leadership position and acting on their passion in large numbers early!”

The former police officer, Texas chart-topper, and bilingual entertainer wowed at the Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB) Board Dinner earlier this summer (read more about it here) and is currently on his first radio tour receiving early praise from Country radio’s tastemakers:

“It took us less than dos minutos to get excited about Frank Ray. A great voice and great songs, pretty good combination.” — Rod Phillips (Executive Vice President of Programming, Country Brand Manager iHeart Media)

“You can feel it. Frank Ray is going to be a force in Country music.” — Tim Roberts (Vice President/Audacy -Country Format Capt.)

“Listener response has been 100 percent positive. Every time the song plays on KHEY-FM I will see Instagram [and] Snapchat stories tagging the station and Frank Ray.” — Patti Diaz (iHeartMedia VP of Programming at the El Paso cluster)
