Willie Jones, who made waves with his song “American Dream,” and debut album Right Now earlier this year, recently signed with Sony Music Nashville in partnership with The Penthouse. Today, he released "Down By The Riverside" as his major label debut single.
Written by Wille Jones along with Josh Logand and producer Jason Afable,, the track is a genre-blending banger where Jones embraces his roots in Deep South Louisiana. All this while showcasing his uncanny ability to expand our definitions of country music with his blend of country, hip hop, R&B and energy, all of it infused with beats and banjos and harmonicas.
“This song is straight Louisiana jambalaya: Swampy, Sexy and drippin’ all over the floor,” says Jones. “Jason, Josh and I have a great chemistry and this one hits hard from that first harmonica lick and keeps you greasy ‘til the end.”
