Lainey Wilson Set For Breakout Country Success

Rising singer/songwriter’s “Things a Man Oughta Know” breaking through at terrestrial country radio after success on streaming and SiriusXM.

On the heels of releasing her debut album Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ in late February, Lainey Wilson’s career trajectory continues to be on the upswing as the talented and uniquely-voiced songwriter has been selected by iHeart Radio as their “On The Verge” program which highlights rising artists as they are attempting their breakout. Other artists included in the program include Luke Combs, Dustin Lynch, Sam Hunt, Maren Morris, Ingrid Andress and Granger Smith, among many others. It’s a program which includes radio airplay but also has a strong digital component as well with strong support of the On The Verge program through their network of radio station websites.

Her current single is a fan favorite and with its early success at SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Weekend Countdown and multiple high profile placements in streaming playlists, the song has been poised for its current breakthrough at country radio. While terrestrial radio’s significance isn’t as huge as it used to be in most genres, in country music it is the true barometer of success within the Mainstream Country Music industry and for the fans that hear it they’re buying or streaming it more outside of country radio at high rates (Top 5 consumption per radio airplay spin and streams per spin the past 24 weeks plus).

Rainey’s debut album Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’ showcases an artist who is fully formed with her blend of funky sounds and character-driven storytelling and lyrics. The honesty of the album is what pulls the listener in and working with producer Jay Joyce on the project proved to be the perfect partner to bring her songs to the forefront as she’s crafted a corner of country music that is all her own: “Bell Bottom Country. This blend of traditional and modern aesthetic gives her and her Broken Bow Records partners the right music from which to make Lainey Wilson the next country music superstar.
