With a pair of Top 10 hits already under his belt for the project, the time was right to release the track list, release date and album art for “The Speed of Now, Part 1.” The new album from Hit Red Records/Capitol Records Nashville features sixteen tracks including both versions of “We Were,” the original solo effort and the duet version with UMG Nashville superstar labelmate Eric Church. Also included on the album are two other special songs, “Out Of The Cage” and “One Too Many.” Both of these songs feature guests and kick off the album.
The Top 10 hit “God Whispered Your Name” and previously released streaming singles “Polaroid” and “Superman.” “Change Your Mind” will be released from the record and is likely to be the third radio single from the album as well. The sixteen tracks feature titles like “Soul Food,” “Ain’t It Like A Woman,” “Better Like I Am,” “Say Something’ and “Forever.” The “Part One” hints at this being basically a double album’s worth of material that is being split up into two halves. We have long known Keith Urban to be constantly working on new music but it seems that the superstar’s time in quarantine has made him even more creative with his music where his downtime has allowed him to create and collaborate (via zoom).
We have yet to hear the project but definitely feel like it will contain multiple fun surprises within the sixteen tracks with a lot of melodic and rhythmic moments, as his albums always have featured.
