Country Music's Most-Consumed Albums Chart: March 2, 2020

This week's chart features the usual suspects along with a few added sales+streaming figures on some current and favorite albums in our notables area.

Not much has changed on this week's chart with the Top 5 of the Most-Consumed albums in country music virtually the same as last week (Only Chris Stapleton's Traveller falls out while Kane Brown's Experiment falls in...again). That said, we're able to take a deeper dive into the albums making an impact here as we've gotten the full rundown of 24 or so albums before we get to a notable selection where we're not given true activity to date numbers on a country music only source as of yet). The Top 24 albums were all part of Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart and the activity numbers are reflective of that moreso than SoundScan's own data. That being said, it appears Morgan Wallen's debut If I Know Me is poised to become a Platinum-certified album sooner rather than later while the same can be said for Blake Shelton's Fully Loaded: God's Country album as well. Old Dominion's Old Dominion album has moved 320k total since release and it looks as if their single "Some People Do" may actually help move the needle even more after career single "One Man Band" broke them into new territories.

Notable albums making appearances on this chart include Jon Pardi's California Sunrise, Riley Green's Different 'Round Here and George Strait's 50 #1's, a record which has a Sales+Streaming total of 1.6 million but is actually certified much higher (7x Platinum) than that thanks to both double album status and the fact that it sold more physical copies than 1.6 (which would equal about 3 million in RIAA terms). With that said, we have weekly #s on Jordan Davis' Home State (it only sold 91 copies in the true sales chart so these numbers are reflective in the three hit singles streaming and single sales success this week). Other notables are Tyler Childers' Purgatory, a pair of Brett Young albums, Jimmie Allen's Mercury Lane (thanks to a #1 radio chart hit this week in "Make Me Want To" and "Best Shot.") and a couple catalog albums including Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits: Decade #1.
