Sam Hunt To Release New Single “Kinfolks” Tomorrow

The single is the first new music from the star behind “Break Up In A Small Town” and “Body Like A Back Road” in over a year.

After some time away to make music that was truly inspiring to him and not just more of the same, Sam Hunt is set to return tomorrow, October 10, 2019, with his brand new single “Kinfolks.” The song, which he wrote with longtime friends and collaborators Zach Crowell, Josh Osborne and Jerry Flowers, will be available to stream and buy at 5pm EST on October 10 while the official radio impact (Add) date is Monday, October 14, 2019.

“When I think of ‘kinfolks,’ when I think of that phrase,” says Hunt, “I think of my family, but also I think of my people back home – beyond family. It’s my buddies who’ve been a part of my story from the beginning. I’ve made a lot of new friends and met a lot of new people who are important to me since I’ve moved away, but that core group is still my core group. It’s like that old saying, ‘you can’t make old friends.’” Hunt leans on that sentiment, exemplifying the importance of bringing a new relationship into the mix and comfortability of home.

Hunt has been dropping hints for “Kinfolks” all week with images and lyrics on his socials teeing up the highly-anticipated new release. The star singer behind “House Party” and “Leave The Night On” is back in the studio finishing up the official sophomore album follow-up to multi-platinum, award-winning album Montevallo. He even gave fans a taste of new music this last month, performing “Sinning With You” with an ecstatic crowd as part of the Bud Light House Party event in Calgary last month.
