Top 30 Digital Country Tracks: July 15, 2019

Other genres have infiltrated the country charts this summer but the majority of the chart remains country songs. Here, you can see which songs fans are passionate enough to own forever.

It's been a while since we've done one of these and we're hoping to keep them back at regular intervals. This year's been the year of "country trap" as Billboard expelling Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" from this chart and any other country charts has lead to the song becoming one of the biggest hits of the streaming era and certainly one of the last, great hits of a decade of interesting hits.  We chart that song's run in the "notable" section of this rundown but the song on top here is Blanco Brown's "The Git Up." While it remains to be seen if this artist will score a top radio hit with his song, Billboard certainly hasn't made the same mistake twice and thus Brown benefits from that as his song has become a viral and digital smash (and lead to his signing with Broken Bow Music Group and BMG).

In other chart news, Blake Shelton has his biggest radio and chart hit in years with the Devin Dawson and HARDY co-write "God's Country" while Luke Combs's "Beer Never Broke My Heart" helps the newest Grand Ole Opry member remain the hottest new artist on the scene and an unlikely superstar at that (see, talent does win out, still). Luke Bryan's "Knockin' Boots" is still popular enough even if we wish for him to take a few more risks with lead singles but the song is definitely on brand. Morgan Wallen, the former The Voice contestant, has had a pair of successful hits and the odd thing is that "Whiskey Glasses" is even bigger than his collaboration with FGL, "Up Down." The singer rounds out this week's Top 5 while he primes the fourth single from his debut album to hit radio (and thus these charts) soon.  About the only bad thing about this week's Top 10 is that there isn't one song from a female artist, band or duo and instead you have to look to #11, where Carrie Underwood stands with "Southbound," a song which may be the biggest hit off of her Cry Pretty album when everything's said and done with that project.

Do you have the most up-to-date totals for Meant To Be? I wanted to see if it had finally reached 1.5 MM.

This is awesome and a regular interval would be awesome for these postings, but can you include streaming equivalents and not just single sales? These numbers are not that accurate.

    • Matt Bjorke

Patrick, We don't get the streaming equivalents that often. This reflects the pure sales numbers but if a source for equivalents arises, we will certainly publish a rundown.

considering summer is a slow time for music sales some of these numbers aren't bad
