Scotty McCreery Scores #1 Album With “Seasons Change”

The album scored over 40,000 albums sold in the first week of release, a number which is one of the strongest first week of sales for a country music album in the past year.

Since arriving on the scene in 2011, Scotty McCreery has been on a roller coaster of ups and downs and seasons which were both hot and cold yet he’s managed to come out on top with Seasons Change arriving at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. It’s his forth album (in four tries) to hit the spot, joining Clear As Day, Christmas With Scotty McCreery and See You Tonight all hitting the top spot from 2011-2013. Seasons Change was produced by Frank Rogers, Derek Wells an Aaron Eshuis.

“It’s been quite a journey these last few years, and to learn that Seasons Change has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart is awesome and so gratifying,” said McCreery. “I’m glad everyone is enjoying the new music. I am so thankful to my fans, who have always been so supportive. With a No. 1 album, my first-ever No. 1 single, and my upcoming wedding to the love of my life, I just don’t see how 2018 can get any better!”

This record is also the first time Scotty McCreery has co-written every song on the project, a feat he is immensely proud of as he’s grown into his career. The album’s lead single, “Five More Minutes” became Scotty’s first char-topping single on both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck Airplay charts. The song also was certified Gold by the RIAA.

Nice acheivements for Scotty though a gold single seems like small potatoes when you have country singles that are 5 x platinum and higher like Carrie Underwood's Before He Cheats Taylor Swifts Love Story Shake It Off and Bad Blood Florida Georgia Lines Cruise which is the only country song thus far to reach diamond status 10,000,000 copies or more sold and one of less than 30 songs all together to reach that threshold since the launch of the Diamond Award in 1999 the biggest physical single of all time Is Elton John's Candle In The Wind 1997/Something About The Way You Look Tonight which is 11 x platinum

Yes Carrie's Before He Cheats is many times platinum ....it was also released from an album in 2005. The song didn't hit platinum over night. Cruise was released in 2012, also took some time to achieve platinum status. 5 More Minutes hasn't been out a year yet and is close to platinum certification. Scotty has several platinum singles and I doubt any artist would call a gold certification small potatoes in today's sales market.
