sales are low right now they'll start to pick up again in Mid November and there's still big releases coming Miley Cyrus Shania Twain Demi Lovato Chris Stapleton Tim McGraw & Faith Hill Taylor Swift etc they're predicting Reputation to be bigger than 1989 and possibly give Adele's 25 a run for it's first week sales which physical was 3.377.885 and 3.482.000 million copies with streams of it's first single hello 25 is currently 11 x platinum earning Adele her 2nd diamond award two of Taylor's albums with streaming are approaching diamond Status 2008's Fearless and 2014's 1989 the three best selling female Artists to emerge since 2005 are Taylor Adele and Carrie Underwood Taylor's sales at 30 million albums in the US alone Adele's at 28 million and Carrie's at 19 million far and away the Best Selling winner of American Idol the releases of their debut albums are as Follows Carrie's debut Some Hearts was released November 15th 2005 Taylor's self titled Debut album was released October 24th 2006 and Adele's debut album 19 was released in the US on June 10th 2008 shortly after her 20th birthday Some Hearts is 8 x platinum Taylor's debut is 5 x platinum almost 6 and 19 is 3 x platinum their sophomore albums are 14 x platinum 7 x platinum and eligible for at minimum eight x platinum and 4 x platinum respectively mind you Sophomore albums Usually decrease in sales by about 50% from debuts though there are instances where sales increase for instance Faith Hill's sophomore album 1995's It Matter's to Me's sales increased by 33.33% in total over her 1993 Debut Take Me As I Am her 3rd album increased it's sales by 50% to 6,000,000 total her 1999 album Breathe increased over her self titled 3rd album 1998's Faith by 33.3334% to 8 million shipped her largest sales 2002's Cry decreased it's sales by nearly 67% to 2.666.664 million copies eligible to be certified 3 x platinum and her last solo studio album 2005's Fireflies to 2.4 million sold 2 x platinum her 2007 compilation The Hits is eligible for Gold certification and her 2008 Christmas Album Joy To The World is eligible for Platinum
