Single Review: Rascal Flatts - "Yours If You Want It"

Its been a while since Rascal Flatts has released an uptempo single which felt as classic and as current as "Yours If You Want It." There's a familiar groove in this little ditty about a man who is ready to give his heart over to the girl of his dreams but it's as familiar as a slice of warm apple pie. Gary LeVox sounds quietly refreshed as he sings the memories and Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney provide the groove and sterling harmonies that recall the band's earliest hits like "Prayin' For Daylight."

The production is modern and fresh with synths layered underneath mandolins and married to a percussive melody with slide and steel guitar fills in the mix. It's interesting in that it isn't nearly as bombastic as some past uptempo hits from Rascal Flatts. It's a strong opening statement for their forthcoming album and a good follow up to the chart-topper "I Like The Sound of That."
