The release date for Jake Owen’s highly-anticipated fifth album has been set as he announced the release date via Facebook Live today. American Love is the name of the album and it features 11 tracks which chronicle various stages of relationships and love. The album, co-produced on 8 tracks by Shane McAnally (Old Dominion, Kasey Musgraves) and Ross Copperman (Brett Eldredge, Dierks Bentley) and by Jake and Lukas Bracewell on the other three tracks, is a back-to-basics approach for Jake with the singer stating, “This is me, this is what I want to say and this is what I want people to remember me for.”
The Album’s lead single is already at #17 on the Billboard and Country Aircheck/Mediabase charts and has sold 127k to date. The song has also been streamed on Spotify nearly 6 million times and features a new music video with growing streams via YouTube and Vevo. Songwriters Chris Stapleton and Hillary Lindsey are just two of the project’s special background vocalists.
American Love is a new beginning for Owen. “Over the past few years I’ve experienced the unexpected,” he says. “My Dad received a cancer diagnosis and I, unfortunately, went through a divorce. People probably thought I would record songs that reflected those difficult times, but I found myself gravitating to songs that had more of a positive vibe and actually made me feel better by singing them. Music truly does seem to help the healing process.”
Jake has become a beacon of positive vibes through his uplifting lyrics and melodies, optimism, love of the beach and his youthful spontaneity. “I can’t wait for people to hear these new tunes, “ Jake says with a giant smile. “We just added a horn section to my band out on the road and the energy I feel on stage with these guys takes it to a another level.”
