Tucker Beathard Drops Debut Single “Rock On” This Week

Young singer/songwriter — who landed on our Ones To Watch List for 2016 — delivers his debut single for the Dot Records label.

Released to country radio today (and already available via download and streaming), “Rock On” is rising singer/songwriter Tucker Beathard’s first foray to the country radio charts. Written by Tucker with his father, hit songwriter Casey Beathard (“Homeboy”) and Marla Cannon-Goodman, “Rock On” showcases the singer’s unique and rhythmic approach to country music.

With a rhythmic way of playing guitar, influenced by his innate drumming ability, Beathard played both lead guitar and drums on the track. The song, which is about regretting the girl that got away, “Rock On" is concise but contains sharp turns of phrase in the lyrics, not unlike Eric Church.

“It was important to me when deciding on the first single that the song was one that I felt would show who I am as an artist, musician and songwriter,” said Beathard. “I'm a bit of an introvert, but writing songs and performing them is my way of expressing myself, and I hope it resonates with people."

Tucker Beathard will be touring Dierks Bentley this summer, which will also include dates in the UK and Ireland. Songwriter Angelo Petraglia is overseeing the production of Tucker’s debut for Dot Records, an album due later this year. Angelo is well-known as a producer for his work with Platinum Nashville-based rockers Kings of Leon.
