Country Albums Chart Report: November 17, 2015

For the second week in a row, country music has the best-selling album in the nation.

Chris Stapleton's magical post-CMA Awards run continues with Traveller selling another 97,000 total copies and over 122k track equivelant albums to land the #1 slot on both the Country Albums chart and Billboard's Hot 200 Albums chart for a second week. The album has sold nearly 347k copies with all but 98k of those happening in the past two weeks. At #2 is Eric Church's Mr Misunderstood album. He's scanned over 129k of the surprise album in two weeks (and he gave the album away to many of the star's core fans for free). Tim McGraw debuts with Dam Country Music at #3 with sales of 39k plus in the first week. Carrie Underwood's Storyteller sits at #4 with 265k scanned in three weeks. Old Dominion debut with 20.5k copies of Meat And Candy scanned this week to hold down the 5th best-selling country album in all of the USA.

Top Ten Recap

Sitting at #6 is Luke Bryan's Kill The Lights with 691k scanned to date. Sam Hunt has the #7  album again this week with his ever so popular Montevallo album. At #8 is Blake Shelton's three week old Reloaded: 20 #1 Hits collectionJosh Abbott Band's Front Row Seat debuts at #9 with nearly 13k scanned while Thomas Rhett's Tangled Up sits at #10 with 151k scanned to date.

Notables

Cole Swindell, Hunter Hayes and Alan Jackson all debut with new projects as does Maren Morris and the Redneck Souljers this week. Swindell had the #11th best-selling project with his second Down Home Sessions EP. Hayes had the #16 project with The 21 Project. Meanwhile notable albums on this list include Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits: Decade #1 dual disc project. It has sold 409k to date making it just under 100k scanned from Platinum (double discs multiply Gold to Platinum). Joey + Rory's Country Classics has now sold over 15k to date and may very well be the final country music album from the husband and wife duo as Joey is battling terminal cancer (they will have a Gospel project she recorded while getting treatment out in the future).

Other notable albums include the latest from Little Big Town, Don Henley, George Strait,  Alabama, Brett Eldredge, Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, Jana Kramer, Miranda Lambert, Brantley Gilbert, Tyler Farr, and Chase Rice, among others!
