Eric Church To Release “Mr. MisUnderstood” Stealth Album?

Whispers around the internet point to a post-CMA Awards release from Chief.

Per Whiskey Riff, it seems that Eric Church may be releasing a stealth Mr. Misunderstood album this week in a surprise to fans and the industry.

The album was sent to fans who are members of his Church Choir fan club and it could just be a special project for them (for now) but given how UMG basically sprang the George Strait project on the world with little lead time, Eric Church dropping a new 10 song project doesn’t exactly shock us and it’d be a robust seller.

Here’s the tracklist that is said to be on the album:

  1. Mr. Misunderstood
  2. Mistress Named Music
  3. Chattanooga Lucy
  4. Mixed Drinks About Feelings
  5. Knives of New Orleans
  6. Round Here Buzz
  7. Kill A Word
  8. Holding’ My Own
  9. Record Year
  10. Three Year Old

@Joh it's called evolving and you are what's called a fair weather fan Eric isn't the first major star to release an album with No heads up Beyonce did it in December 2013

I listened to this album for the first and last time today. I was a long time EC fan from the days he played bars with 100 people. Been to 15 shows around the country before the wheels fell off with the Outsiders. With Mr. Misunderstood the wheel really fell off. The only misunderstanding here is why he doesn't make albums like Sinners and Carolina anymore. Still love his voice but his song and production choices are horrendous. I'm afraid the Old, brilliant EC is gone for good and so is a longtime dedicated fan.
