Brett Eldredge “Illinois” Tracklist & Cover Art

Singer reveals full tracklist for sophomore album set to be released on September 11, 2015.

With “Lose My Mind” already Top 10 at country radio, Brett Eldridge is ready to share the full details about his forthcoming album Illinois. The 12 track album showcases another side (or 12) to the talented and often humorous singer/songwriter with him offering 10 second interpretations of each track via Snapchat (now on YouTube and embedded below).

The CMA New Artist of the Year winner is excited about the album with the title track — co-written with Tom Douglas and Brad Crisler — which gives a nod to his home state of Illinois. “No matter where you go in life, the place you come from and call home will always mean something dear. Starting with that as the title was important to me — these songs are all part of my story.”

Eldridge co-wrote and co-produced each of the dozen tracks on Illinois, an album which he says has a different vibe than his first record. With producers Ross Copperman and Brad Crisler, Brett sought to capture moments of inspiration. The song features vocals from the day the songs were written (which is how he worked on much of the first record) and incorporates guitar runs Brett would vocalist and percussion sounds that he tapped out with a stapler to his co-producer. “Luckily, Ross doesn’t think I’m crazy. He’s so brilliant in the studio, it freaks me out a little,” said Brett.

The songs feature real life inspiration and situations as well. A self-confessed insomniac, the hook and melody for the album’s first single, “Lose My Mind,” was born on a sleepless night. “Just A Taste” is a personal song that stems from a real-life experience and “I Wanna Be That Song,” was sparked by a reporter who asked Brett “What do you want to do with your music?”  Soon after, Brett penned the answer in song. “I want to be that song that helps you through something, or that made you fall in love or made you want to dance.”

‘“Lose It All” is probably one of my favorite heartbreak songs I’ve ever written,” said Eldredge of the song available Friday at iTunes and all digital music outlets. “Heartbreak songs are so important to me, and so much of what I love about Country Music. ‘Lose It All’ is a song I wrote a while ago with Brad Crisler and Whispering Bill Anderson and I’m so glad is on the album.”
