Granger Smith Signs With BBR Music Group

Singer and Earl Dibbles, Jr.’s real alter-ego signs with Nashville-based label for new record deal.

After working for years as an independent artist in Texas and growing his presence on a national scale, Granger Smith is ready to break out with the announcement that he’s signed with BBR Music Group as the newest artist on their roster.

As the music industry changed around him, Granger Smith was able to grow awareness for him as an artist in an unusual way: via YouTube video and social media featuring alter ego Earl Dibbles Jr. The success of the Earl Dibbles Jr. character can be felt far and wide as memes have spread to the point that people who haven’t ever listened to Granger Smith before know who Earl Dibbles Jr. is. That brings us to Granger himself and why he’s such an engaging artist; He knows how to connect with the audience and does so in unique ways.

His music is often personal and pulled from his life as a touring musician and as a family man and with country music needing that kind of artist, he’s ready to deliver this kind of music to the fans.

"I've held off for years in partnering with a record label because of my obsessive passion for writing, creating & releasing music my own way,” says Smith. “Because of my dedication to touring, fans have come to want and expect my music to be delivered in a very personal way, and my commitment to that won't change. In BBR Music Group, we've realized a like-minded passion and a simple obligation: don't change the foundation of what I've built, but simply magnify the message. It goes without saying that BBR has the firepower and for that, I'm extremely excited.”

His success as a touring artist is admired and unparalleled among Southwest-rooted artists as he’s able to travel the nation, especially with new single “Backroad Song” already doing well on SiriusXM “The Highway” and other outlets. His rare combination of star power, social media reach and gaining fans in new, uncharted ways for country music is one of the reasons BBR Music Group was attracted him in the first place, along with an easygoing charisma.

“I tell unsigned acts looking for deals all the time to CREATE demand – prove to labels you can connect with an audience,” says Loba. “Granger is the epitome of doing just that AND is doing it NATIONALLY - not just regionally. His touring and merch business is already out-performing many signed acts with multiple hits.  We are so excited to add Granger to the BBR Music Group family and look forward to amplifying the RABID demand he has created for himself and his alter ego Earl Dibbles Jr.”

Granger is partnering with his 4x4 EP co-producer, Frank Rogers, to record his full-length debut album with BBR Music Group. He’s also continuing his road tour which is booked by William Morris Endeavor Entertainment. (WME).
