Chris Janson Buys Him a Boat

Star is excited for nearly-Gold Top 10 success of "Buy Me A Boat," his breakout single for Warner Music Nashville.

Chris Janson’s Top 10 single “Buy Me A Boat” has become the song of the summer, and the 29 year old singer songwriter decided it was time to experience what he’s been singing about. So last week Janson and his family bought a few kayaks and immediately went to the Harpeth River, just outside of Nashville, and spent the day easing down the river.

“We had the afternoon off and wanted to get on the river and this was the fastest way to do it,” says Janson. “The river is close to the house and it’s a great way to spend the afternoon with the family. We’re not home much this summer but we will get back out there every chance we get.”

Janson’s first Top 10 single as an artist, “Buy Me A Boat” accomplished that feat in only 13 weeks. The song has more than 6 million plays on Spotify and more than 2.5 million YouTube views. "Buy Me a Boat" has also sold nearly 500,000 downloads.

Janson is also enjoying a summer of capacity crowds out on the road with fans singing along to every word of “Buy Me A Boat.”  In addition to his own shows, fairs and festivals, he’s part of Toby Keith’s Good Times & Pick Up Lines Tour presented by Ford F-Series.
