While hot on the charts with “Girl Crush,” Little Big Town member Jimmy Westbrook is recovering from recent surgery to remove a polyp from his vocal chord. Originally set to return to concert shows on July 30, the band has extended their break to August 22’s date in Avondale, Canada.
"We have missed you, and as you can see Jimmy is still not talking," Phillip Sweet said in a video posted on the band's Facebook page. As he spoke he pointed to Westbrook, who had tape over his mouth and wore an iPad connected to suspenders around his neck in order to communicate. "He just got back from the doctor and he just needs a little bit more time to heal up, so he'll be 100% and back on the road. We'll be back real soon."
