Country Album Chart Report for July 28, 2015

This week's Country Album Chart Report for July 28, 2015 features a pair of strong-selling debuts as Jason Isbell's Something More Than Free rode indie record store sales to out-sell Alan Jackson's Angels and Alcohol by only 300 copies (after initial reports had neglected to include the indie store sales figures). if you use the reports from the Billboard Top 200 chart which includes streaming #s, Alan Jackson held onto the #1 country album by more than 600 'albums' sold/heard).  Sam Hunt's Montevallo sits at #3 with sales now at 655k and growing. Zac Brown Band's Jekyll+Hyde has sold 454,000 albums to date while Eric Church is at 1.014 million albums scanned with The Outsider to round out this week's Top 5.

Little Big Town slides down the chart this week but they gained album sales over last week with Pain Killer. They have now scanned over 300k copies of the album which features the #1 hit "Day Drinking" and the best-selling single of 2015, "Girl Crush." Sitting at #7 is Kasey Musgraves' sophomore album Pageant Material. She's scanned over 96k to date while the Various artist Now Country 8 has scanned over 74k. Jason Aldean's Old Boots New Dirt has scanned over one million copies to date to sit at #9 while Brantley Gilbert's "Just As I Am" sits at #10 with sales of nearly 873k to date.
