Whitney Rose "Heartbreaker Of The Year" Tracklist & Cover Art

Country traditionalist from Canada teams up with Raul Malo and members of The Mavericks to produce sophomore album release.

Set for release August 21, 2015, Heartbreaker of the Year announces the arrival of a talented newcomer to the United States recording scene in Whitney Rose. The rising singer/songwriter wrote or co-wrote 8 of the 10 tracks featured on Heartbreaker of the Year while the two other tracks feature her unique view of the iconic hits "There's A Tear In My Beer" from Hank Williams and the Ronettes "Be My Baby," here performed as a duet with her friend and album producer Raul Malo, of The Mavericks.

3/4 of The Mavericks (Raul Malo, drummer Paul Deakin and multi-instrumentalist Jerry Dale McFadden) perform as the recording band on Heartbreaker of the Year along with Rose's stellar wingman guitarist/modolinist Nichol Robertson. Steel guitar/dobro and lap steel playyer Burke Carroll, bassist Jay Weaver and strings artist Drew Jurecka perform as part of the ensemble for Heartbreaker of the Year as well.

Heartbreaker of the year infuses Americana rooted music in a sound she calles "Vintage pop-infused, neo-tradtiional country." That sound is what drew Raul Malo to her as she opened a pair of tours for The Mavericks. The project was recorded in four days at Toronto's REvolution Studios.

Explaining her work with Malo and The Mavericks, Whitney Rose states: "I'm very attracted to the simplicity of older music. It's straightforward; here's a story, here's a feeling - three chords and the truth."
