Home Free Makes Waves at Grand Ole Opry

Vocal band inspires crowd to a standing ovation after their harmonic debut on the iconic stage.

Columbia Records’ a cappella quintet Home Free made the long-awaited Grand Ole Opry debut on Friday night and were warmly welcomed with a standing ovation. They performed their unique spins on the Rascal Flatts hit “Life Is A Highway” and Johnny Cash’s “Ring Of Fire.”

The winners of the fourth season of NBC’s “The Sing Off” were immediately invited by Grand Ole Opry Vice President and General Manager Pete Fisher to return for an encore performance at a later date. Vince Gill also congratulated the band on their debut.

“We were overwhelmed by the crowd's response during our debut at the Grand Ole Opry. We were just honored to be among Country royalty in Vince and Larry on Friday,” said Home Free's Tim Foust. “We never imagined we would receive multiple standing ovations and get invited back on the spot!”

Comprised of five vocalists from Minnesota - Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Chris Rupp, Tim Foust and Adam Rupp – Home Free is releasing their third studio album this fall on Columbia Records. It features their new original song, “Summer In The Country,” additional new tracks, a few surprise collaborations and their trademark a cappella versions of today’s hit songs.

Home Free will hit the road full throttle this fall with the launch of the 2015 DON’T IT FEEL GOOD Tour. Kicking off September 14th in Fredericton, Canada, the tour will cover 47-plus cities bringing their high-energy performances and quick-witted humor across North America.

To date Home Free has made their mark on the music scene with selling more than 150,000 copies combined of their popular albums, CRAZY LIFE and FULL OF CHEER, embarking on two major national tours and amassing nearly 40 million YouTube views.

Only band in years that I have bought both of their entire albums. Usually it is just one or 2 songs from other artists on iTunes, but with Home Free I have liked ALL their songs and can't wait for their new album!!!!

wonderful band. they are going further and farther. hope they don't wear themselves out with those tour dates. they are my pleasure to listen to when i get home from work. by the way, i live in vermont - schedule sparse on new england dates, but i can listen anyway. just mentioning.

These are 5 very talented men who choose to use their vocal talent instead of relying on instrumentation to assist. With the exception of Adam Rupp, the beat box, either man can step up and sing lead without any loss in the quality of their music. I have no doubt if Adam chose to sing he would be equal to the other 4 men. Thank you for your write up about these amazing singers.

**Thx so much for the follow-up on Home Free's Grand Ole Opry debut!!... **What new fans may not know, is that these guys aren't just awesome singers, they're ccomposers/songwriters/ arrangers/instrumentalists, some multi- (for example, their beatboxer plays solid trumpet, bass, keys, drums), yet choose to use just their voices to sound like a full band!..Some of my favs. are awesome originals, like 'Everything Will Be Okay', 'I've Seen', hilarious Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget' & 'Full Of Cheer', etc....'Summer In The Country' is awesome, too & loove Adam's beatboxing! 'Adam Rupp VP Solo'..............Thx again for the write-up ! :)
